_ABILITIES: Because of the time she spent at home taking care for the garden along with her grandmother, Shiemi knows a lot about plants and how to use them in order to treat various illnesses and injuries.
Other than that, she has talent as Tamer, meaning she can summon demons to use them as familiars. In her particular case, she can invoke a small greenman demon called Nii-chan, who in turn can summon a lot of plants. To call for him, Shiemi needs a summoning circle (written on paper, for example) and her own blood.
_PERSONALITY: Since she was a little kid, Shiemi has suffered from poor health, which had greatly influenced her nature: Due to the lack of contact with other people (aside from her family, she only met a few exorcists who came to her mother's store), she is very shy and naïve, easily trusting on what others say which makes her easy to manipulate. The fact that she is inexperienced when it comes to friendship allows anyone to take advantage of her, as demonstrated by her classmate Kamiki when she used Shiemi for errands arguing that "it's what friends do."
Shiemi is so dense that even attempts to insult her (as seen when Kamiki said she was "as shameless as weed") can be interpreted as words of encouragement (Shiemi promised to be "as strong as weed"). Once she sets her mind on a goal is difficult to make her desist, demonstrating her stubbornness and determination, and will try as many times as necessary until she succeeds: proof of this are the numerous attempts to befriend Paku and Izumo, after Shiemi decided to stop depending on Rin and Yukio. She can also be very clumsy, bumping heads with others and tripping, especially when she is nervous.
However, her most notable feature isn't her clumsiness or how easy is to use her, but her loyalty and faith in people. Even after hearing that Rin was a demon, the reason she avoided him wasn't because she was afraid of him, but because she was too disappointed on herself for not being able to help Rin. And while the rest was afraid of being burned by his fire while fighting against the Impure King, Shiemi knew Rin wouldn't hurt them, and she even hugged him to show him he wasn't a danger although he himself warned her not to approach because he didn't know if he could control himself.
She is very friendly and has a big heart, giving her best even in the most mundane tasks, like laundry. She is always smiling and keeping a positive attitude, and she only shows herself angry or even raises her voice with the people closest to her. She has a strong will and always puts others first, like the time she used her free time to take care of those ill because of Impure King's miasma. Similarly, she will do anything to protect her friends, even if it means putting herself in danger or to push herself beyond her own limits.
In order to be useful for her friends, Shiemi will do anything, but this feeling can also work against her: There are times when she demands too much of herself and is particularly severe at judge herself, to the point of losing her self-confidence. However, even if she considered herself weak and a burden to others, she is determined to "catch" her friends and fight by their side.
